At Koops, our interns are trusted team members who gain valuable, hands-on experience in the automation industry. As a Manufacturing Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work on either the Machine Build Team or the Machining Team, depending on your interests and Koops’ availability. This role is designed to give students practical exposure to automation equipment, precision machining, and real-world manufacturing environments.

Internship Opportunities

Machine Builder

  • Plan and prepare for machine builds

  • Assist in assembly of custom automation systems (mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic)

  • Work with engineering prints and CAD files

  • Gain customer-site experience

  • Support shop organization and clean-up

Machinist

  • Perform metal cutting and deburring

  • Work from engineering prints and CAD files

  • Operate Bridgeport mills and other machining equipment

  • Support shop organization and clean-up

We’re seeking motivated students who are eager to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing and automation. Whether you’re pursuing engineering or skilled trades, this internship will help you build technical skills and industry knowledge in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Full-time engineering student who has enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, an engineering program

  • Student enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, a trades program

Timeline
This internship will run during Summer 2026.
